There’s no doubt that the iPad is a powerful tablet device, it’s capable of delivering a highly engaging and immersive user experience. But what’s under the hood delivering all of this? The iPad is powered by a built in 25 Whr rechargeable lithium-polymer battery. This shouldn’t be a surprise as Apple currently relies on this battery technology for it’s line of iPods and MacBooks. It’s also the same type of battery used in the Kindle. Lithium polymer batteries are perfectly suited for devices like tablets and PDAs as they can be shaped just about any way the manufacturer requires – this is a key factor behind smaller, lighter and more slender phones and tablet devices like the iPad. The iPad’s is advertised as offering up to 10 hours of Wi-Fi web surfing, video or listening to tunes. The iPad’s battery can be charged using the included power adapter or via USB cable to your MacBook or PC.

Exercise is Important

In order to maintain maximum performance from you lithium polymer powered iPad, it needs to be USED. If you don’t use your iPad often enough (we don’t think this will be a problem!), make sure you complete a charge/discharge cycle at least once a month to keep it conditioned.
